Gold Museum

The Museo de Oro del Peru (y Armas del Mundo) is a two floor building museum, made of reinforced concrete, that lies in the district of Santiago de Surco, in Lima.

This museum is administrated by the Fundacion Miguel Mujica Gallo, a foundation named after a man who had a private collection of historic articles, a collection he armed through his life, and later he created this foundation. Miguel Mujica felt a bid admiration for the history of Peru and had the intention of leaving a legacy in name of the Peruvian Precolumbian cultures.

This way, so many pieces and jewelry of immense economic and value, were kept as cultural heritage. Nowadays the Museo de Oro del Peru is daily visited by hundreds of people who want to know more about our culture and admire our ancient pieces and jewelry, made of gold, prehispanic textiles and weapons.
